Toys for the youngest occupy a special place in our collection. Their design requires the highest care: beautiful soft lines, pure colours, wood of the best quality. They should give the child joy from touching, throwing, rolling and listening to its rattle, removing parts, placing them inside; the first most important activities in life.

Natural warm and velvet softness of wood felt through live colours perfectly meet the child’s need for tenderness. Wooden toys for the youngest are a beautiful, wise and direct connection between hands of the carer participating in the play and the earliest gestures of the child. Paint with protein binder, proportions of the elements and quality of execution guarantee safety.

Wooden toys in this group give the child the possibility of playing with “arbitrariness”. Arbitrariness comes from natural properties of the material. Wood requires stylisation skills from the designer. A black ball stands for a ladybird’s dot, the aerodynamic red shape on four wheels may be a speeding car. This type of toys does not portrait but rather symbolises the world around us. It appeals to the child’s imagination directly. It emphasises the need of naming things and communicating with the environment. It develops language skills and capacity for abstract thinking in children.

1. Infant toys

infanttoys

This group of toys, dedicated for children aged 1+ is inspired by the world of animals. Horses, frogs, ducks, dogs or our favourite ladybird talking about movement and playing in nature. It perfectly meets the needs resulting from the natural sensitivity of the child.

Symbolism of wooden shapes of toys directly addresses the child’s imagination. It develops language skills and intentional communicating with the environment.

The highest care in manufacturing the toys and the quality of used materials guarantee safety. This has been confirmed with European attestation by TUV Rheinland and SGS.

2. Lacing toys

lacingtoys

The shapes of 3D trees, animals and funny shoes on wheels are emphasised with drilled openings. These toys are easy to handle, turn and freely operate. Threading colourful laces allows “drawing” of various patterns. These toys naturally develop simultaneously manual and creative skills.

·         3D trees are comfortably held in hand.

·         Funny shoes promise self-reliance.

Lacing toys “invite” to exercise  fingers.

3. Education toys

education

Educational potential of BAJO toys develops along with the growing child. The child discovers new playing possibilities all by its own. He/she may surprisingly quickly progress in becoming acquainted with the surrounding world.

Education wooden toys naturally introduce the basic directions of teaching in playing:

  • Experiencing shapes, proportions and colours: recognising, classifying and associating.
  • Developing manual skills: self-reliance, concentration, resourcefulness.
  • Discovering the relationships between shapes, colours, sizes: drawing conclusions, discovering rules.

4. Vehicles

vehicles

A very numerous group of toys, which introduces the common traffic, speed and mobility in the world of play. Stylised, colourful, in various shapes and sizes, these cars are not to imitate cars from the world of adults. They refer directly to the child’s imagination and develop spatial orientation, the sense of direction and distance.

The collection of large and small, very colourful vehicles, includes::

  • Trucks, which may be loaded and unloaded, and may be used for transporting different items
  • Special vehicles: ambulance, police, fire brigade, road inspection
  • Tractors, buses, passenger cars of various types and makes, racing cars
  • Aircraft and helicopters, which travel along with the child.

Vehicles are also structures. The train is a moving brick puzzle.

A huge garage and parking lot may be built for the cars.

4. Role playing (“The world of adults”)

...developing by modelling...

roleplaying

Modelling after adults is the oldest game in the world.

Children form the most conservative communities. They have always been taking care of dolls, building houses, working in carpentry workshops, transporting various goods in carts, teaching at school and galloping on horseback.

Dolls need various types of prams, so we have a pushchair and a sport pram.

Our cradle may be converted into a bed by using funny balls

The house may have an additional storey. The roof structure provides a comfortable apartment in the attic for the dolls.

Rocking horses have special grips to allow galloping for very small riders.

5. Interior

...elements of education and aesthetic simplicity...

interior

We have used small hangers not as a functional decoration item in the child room, but as a precisely made toy.

A road filled with cars, sailing ships, horses on a meadow, teddy bears and dolls in colourful clothes, may accompany gloves, scarves, rucksacks and other bits and pieces.

Playing gives a special place for these items.

When the king takes care of a scarf, no one will need to look for it.

Funny height measures are also toys.

A woodpecker knocks on the oak, and the moon makes faces.
